I had the pleasure of fishing with four anglers today from the great state of Wisconsin. Jim James, his son Ryan and his sons Landon and Manny all jumped into my 18′ Kenai Power Drifter Sled as we ventured out in pursuit of smallies on the French Broad and Little Pigeon Rivers. As luck would have it the spots I had been catching fish in all that week stop producing due to an unforseen increase in current flow from Douglas Dam. Fortunately, we were able to find some smallies in the Little Pigeon River. Ryan caught a nice 19″ 3 lb. 10 oz. smallie. He said it was the biggest bass he had ever caught largemouth or smallmouth. Landon and Manny both had a couple of doubles on smallies. They were a great group to fish with and I hope they get a chance next spring to come to East Tennessee and show me how its done.
