My wife and I did a little scouting today on the French Broad and Little Pigeon Rivers. The Little Pigeon was running a little high and was slightly stained. The water temperature was fifty-eight degrees. The French Broad smallies are beginning to trickle into the Little Pigeon as they begin to make their annual pre-spawn run. We caught several eighteen and nineteen inch fish. A picture of my wife with a healthy 19 ½” river smallie is included in this report. The fishing should ramp up from here over the next several weeks.
