Another day of warm weather has raised the water temperatures in the French Broad River to 55 degrees and the Little Pigeon River to 58. It appears that there has been a small push of pre-spawn smallies into the the Little Pigeon. The fish hit well again today with the majority of the twenty fish I caught between fifteen and nineteen inches. Much colder weather is in the forecast for the next several days which which will likely slow the bite significantly. I am looking forward to the arrival of spring and what can be some of the best river smallmouth fishing of the year.
