It’s Spring Break here in Sevier County Tennessee and I had the good fortune of guiding a couple of nice 15 year old young men for some smallie action on the French Broad River. The fishing had been excellent over the past couple of days and I was hoping that the hot bite would still be on for TJ and Colin. We were not to be disappointed. We pulled up to the area that had been fishing well here recently and after some short instruction on how to fish that spot we were quickly off to the fishing catching races. TJ made his first cast and immediately had a strike, but was unable to hook-up. He made his second cast and again as they say “Got Bit” almost immediately. The result was different this time as he a brought a nice French Broad smallie to the boat. Colin quickly followed suit and in short order eased a nice smallie over the side of the boat. After that the fishing frenzy was on with both of them landing 40 smallies in 5 hours of fishing. The majority of the fish they caught were those hard fighting fourteen to seventeen inch fish. I had a great time guiding TJ and Colin. They were nice, respectful and absolutely great guys to have in the boat.
