No guide trip today so my wife and I hit the water to do some scouting. TVA was generating heavily today at Douglas Dam so we spent the majority of our time on the Little Pigeon River. The river was stained from recent rains and the water temperature was 55 degrees. The French Broad smallies continue their pre-spawn migration up the Little Pigeon. We caught several fish in the the 16 to 17 inch range. My wife caught the big fish of the trip that measured 19 ΒΌ”. A picture of her proudly displaying that dandy smallmouth is included in this report.
