There have been times when the saying “Wind from the East Fish Hit Least” has proven to be true. But I also have had some of my best days on river smallies when the wind was from the east and the sky was cloudy and it was spitting rain on and off throughout the day. But today was sunny with temperatures in the mid-seventies accompanyed by that east wind. The fish were not active in my “go to” spots and it is not because they have been pounded day in day out. They just seemed to be off and we had to be mobile to catch fish. Bob and Jenni worked hard again today, but they did boat 32 smallies with this nice 20 in. smallie capping off another enjoyable day on the water.
