There is a lot of water to fish in East Tennessee for river smallies and I spend quite a bit of time fishing new areas so I can increase the opportunities to put my clients on actively feeding fish. I can go back and pound the same water over and over again, but I think it is important to look for new water to fish. It might be time consuming, but these new waters produce those future “Honey Holes” and it also broadens my clients oppotunities to catch smallmouth with a variety of fishing methods. The shoal I fished today on the French Broad River has a lot of potential with this 18″ smallie one of several nice fish taken on this trip to explore some new water.
