A couple of days ago I caught some really nice fish on the Nolichucky River and my plan was to return to that same section of the river. However, as I was motoring upstream and as luck would have it a heavy rain shower dumped a lot of rain just upstream from where I wanted to fish. The Nolichucky muddies quickly after it gets a sufficient amount of rain and it only took about fifteen minutes after I arrived to the area that I wanted to fish that the water turned brown and was not fishable. I then traveled to fish the Pigeon River, but it also had a pretty good stain. I managed to catch a 16″ smallie pictured above, but today was just one of those days.
