How quickly the conditions can change on the Little Pigeon River. It was unfishable on Tuesday and Wednesday for Brad, Gerald, and Duke due to heavy rain that unfortunately arrived on Tuesday morning. Although stained it had dropped to fishable levels today with a water temperature of sixty degrees. The smallies had indeed turned on after those couple days of high water. The group caught a total of 40 smallies. The majority of the fish were in the seventeen to nineteen and half inch range. Gerald and Duke each caught a “Citation Smallie”. Both were an even twenty inches. Gerald’s was a thin fish that weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz. while Duke’s was a more robust member of that twenty inch club that weighed 4 lbs. 2 oz. A picture of Duke proudly displaying his first “Tennessee Citation Smallmouth” is included in this report.
