It was one of those days where we both questioned whether or not we should be fishing. It was another cold and raw day on the Little Pigeon River. There were ice pellets (graupel) raining down on us periodically throughout the trip. I have guided Dave several times over the years. He was a real trooper. Regardless of the challenging weather conditions he said he still wanted to give it a shot. The bite was not fast and furious with the water temperature having dropped into the low fifties. Dave managed to catch 11 smallies with the majority of them in the 17-19″ range. He was rewarded for his persistence with a Citation Smallmouth that was 20 ½” long that weighed 3 lbs. 9 oz. A picture of Dave with that uncommon twenty plus inch fish is included in this report.
