It had been a couple of years since I guided Randy and his brother in law Mike on the Little Pigeon. They had a good trip a couple of years ago and my hope was that the productive smallie bite that we have had over the past several days would continue. The water temperature was sixty-eight degrees and for the first time this season I saw some smallies start to pair up and exhibit spawning behavior. After six hours of fishing they caught twenty eight smallies. Randy caught his first “Citation Smallmouth” that measured an even twenty inches and weighed 3 lbs. 12 oz. A picture of Randy proudly holding that trophy smallie is included in this report.
