Today was hot, sunny, and humid with little to no wind. We fished a small section of the Chippewa River for five hours. The area we fished is only about a hundred yards long. We slowly and methodically worked the area over and ended up catching a total of of 26 smallies and a hard fighting seven pound blue catfish. The fish were a variety of sizes with three smallies topping the three pound mark. Cindy tangled with a 18 ¾” 3 lb. 7 oz. smallie that ran her all over the river and simply would not quit. It was one of the few times I have heard her say “that fish wore me out!” A picture of Cindy with that extremely tough Chippewa River smallie is included in this report.
