I have a couple of my loyal clients that I guide in East Tennessee coming up to Wisconsin to fish over the weekend for smallies here in Northern Wisconsin. I am going to be scouting both rivers over the next several days in preparation for their visit. It appears that the fall migration is underway. Both rivers are running well above normal due to the heavy rain that fell five days ago. Most of the fish were tight against the bank, so the casts had to be made no further than a foot away from the bank or the fish wouldn’t take. The majority of the twenty-seven smallies I caught were between fifteen and eighteen inches.
