I met Jim and his son Jack at a local watering hole several years ago and we have now made it an annual tradition that I take the two of them out for a few hours of smallie fishing. They travel up from the Wisconsin Rapids area to do some bear hunting on a nearby piece of property so we get caught up on what’s transpired in our lives over the past year and catch a few smallies during the process. We were one less fisherman this year since Jack graduated from college and was traveling out west. Even with the persistent high water conditions we did manage to catch several nice fish. A picture of Jim displaying one of those fall Flambeau smallies he brought to the boat is included in this report.
