I had the pleasure of guiding Matthew from North Carolina today. The generation schedule at Douglas Dam has been all over the board the past couple of weeks. Inconsistent flows at times can make the fishing challenging. With that said we have managed to catch a few smallies every day that we have been on the water. Today would be no different with an ever changing generation schedule keeping us on our angling toes. Matthew fished hard and managed to scratch out four smallies and a decent largemouth during this chilly late fall day on the French Broad River. A picture of Matthew with a nice fifteen inch smallie that he caught on a jerk bait is included in this report. At nineteen years of age Matthew aspires to become a professional fisherman. From what I saw today he has the skills necessary to make that dream come true. Good Luck to Matthew on his future angling endeavors!
