I had the good fortune of having a couple of my great customers from East Tennessee and Florida make the trip to Wisconsin to try their hand at tackling those fall smallies on the Chippewa and Flambeau. Greg and Milo were presented with less than ideal fishing conditions with both rivers still running high and fast. But like the troopers they have been during their trips with me to East Tennessee they fished hard and casted tight to the banks and landed 38 smallies here on Day 1. Greg managed to catch a couple of “pineapples” that both weighed 3lb. 13 oz. late in the day on the Flambeau. They are going to fish with me tomorrow and then spend the next two days casting for muskies with “Muskie Joe” Flater.
