Starting at the beginning of May and running thru the end of October 2023 I will be guiding full time for river smallies in Wisconsin. The rivers you will fish include the Chippewa, Flambeau, and Jump near Lake Holcombe in Rusk County. I will continue to guide full time in East Tennessee from November thru April 2023.
I am starting to sound like a broken record but yet again it was another beautiful sunny day with light winds. We didn’t fish very long today (4 hrs.) I ran from hotspot to hotspot trying give Cindy the best shot at catching some big river smallies on this last day of our fall fishing trip. I ran several miles upstream to fish a large submerged tree that has been holding some really nice fish the past couple of weeks. She had to fish it with some heavy test line and a stout rod to muscle the fish out of the limbs before they wrapped her up and broke off. She did manage to horse a 3-9 and 3-3 out this challenging and yet rewarding spot to fish. A picture of Cindy with that nineteen inch 3 lb. 9 oz. fish is included in this report.
